The Other Eisenhower is a work of fiction expertly woven into the fabric of historic events that occurred days before 6 June 1944—the invasion of Normandy. Following an actual security breach at the British War Office in Whitehall, a peace-loving London postman discovers, and unwittingly, reads secret Operation Overlord plans, thus making him the target of both the Allies, who want to keep him from talking, and the Germans, who are desperate to learn what he knows. He and those pursuing him go on a breathtaking and dangerous chase through half of western Europe in order to keep the plan secret. Meanwhile, across the English Channel, SHAEF Supreme Commander, General Dwight Eisenhower and his staff begin implementing Operation Overlord as they deal with the crushing possibility that they will be sending thousands of troops to their deaths. Aware of the security breach, Ike and the other brass must live with the knowledge that Nazi leaders may learn the details of the invasion and be able to turn back what would be the greatest amphibious assault in history.
